To start the social media world, I need to check which are the important players out there. Actually, I don’t need to look very far to find them. Its very obviously X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and few others. Additionally, of course, there are lots of smaller social media sites that exist out there, some of which have very high potential to become big in the near future – so I will also use them from time to time. In any case, using smaller social media is just like being me: starting small, aiming big – it is something that I find good to use.
The main tool that I plan to use is X, because of its being the most popular short message platform. My current status on X is:
Following | Followers |
40 | 15 |
The few followers that I have gained came naturally, when I communicated to people, looking up popular topics. One of the topics that I find many people do is saying “Good Morning” on X. If I reply to them with Good Morning and also attach a nice picture of a morning sun, breakfast, nature or anything pleasant – most people like my response and some start following me.
Now the question is: How to find a good topic that you can contribute to and get people to like your conversation enough to follow you?
There is no right solution to find perfect topic, but the following guidelines can be used:
Check anything current going on in your surrounding, such as football championship (especially big ones like World Cup, Champions League), some kind of playoffs in a certain sport, continuous music events, festivals, fairs, etc. Things that go on continuously for few weeks, so that you can write few posts and reply to people over the time and get known for it. If an event is a one-time, then its harder to catch attention – by the time you post something, its already gone and forgotten.
