There is definitely a time where I was having great ideas how to do social media, full of confidence that my goals are attainable and will be reached. However, afterwards comes the opposite state: loss of hope, stagnation and frustration. This is where the down sets in and everything looks like it will fall apart.

Last few days I tried to be active on X, writing lots of posts, replies to others, uploading pictures and videos but there is no movement in follower numbers, it sets a mood of frustration. Occasional like back on my comments or no response at all – this all makes one wonder: why am I doing all of this? However, I believe, this is a necessary state in attaining a big goal – a sense of failure and how to deal with it.

One reaction to battle the failure is to keep doing what you are doing and the results will come. Everyone has a bad day, but it should not be overshadowing the overall experience. Being persistent, consistent and programmatically doing what I have been doing is a great way to get out of the failure state. Tenacity can overcome any tribulation!

Another reaction would be to step outside the box and try to think of my social media approach in a different way – to find new methods, fine-tune strategy, purpose or find any other tips to make the way on the journey to become a successful influencer. This is a time to stop and reframe: look backwards, sideways or simply step outside your shoes and picture yourself in a new different way. To basically open your mind to other possibilities and remove the blocks.

A good way to reframe is to search internet for different strategies that I have not thought of before and try them out. How about expanding X to also other platforms like LinkedIn, Youtube, another Blog, etc… Actually, I do have another Tech Blog since many years. There are about 500 visitors per month without me doing any postings at all. I thought, maybe it would be a good idea to connect that Blog with my X account to drive more traffic. Also how about checking my LinkedIn profile and adding the link to my Tech Blog in the profile section? Ideas like this came to my mind today.

Stepping outside the box and thinking differently about my approach is definitely that I need to do more.
